Mousiko Scholeio Trikalon (Music School of Trikala), is a public institution of lower and upper secondary education, with a professional aim, as it provides at the same time a high

level of musical education.

Founded in 1997, Mousiko Scholeio Trikalon has around 300 students aged between 12 and 18 and 90 teachers.

To enrol in the 1st class of Mousiko Scholeio, students must go through a selection process, which takes place every June and involves a special test to determine the level of musical abilities (rhythm) of the candidates, acoustic and vocal skills, tone discernment, etc.) and not just their musical knowledge.

Mousiko Scholeio Trikalon has some experience with European projects: Comenius, Youth in Action, e-Twinning.
